Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: May 1, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) describes activities that are not permitted on the Namence platform. It is part of our Terms of Service and applies to every Namence customer and end user.

1. Prohibited content

You may not host child sexual abuse material, content that promotes terrorism or violence, content that infringes intellectual property rights, defamatory content, or content that is unlawful in your jurisdiction or ours.

2. Network abuse

No port scanning, denial-of-service attacks, mass-mailing without consent, IP/MAC spoofing, brute-force scanning, or operating open relays/proxies for spam.

3. Malware and phishing

You may not knowingly distribute malware, phishing kits, credential harvesters, or operate command-and-control infrastructure for botnets.

4. Email

Bulk email is allowed only to opt-in recipients. SPF, DKIM and DMARC are required. We enforce a 500 messages/hour soft limit on shared and a 5,000/hour soft limit on VPS — contact support to raise limits with proof of consent.

5. Resource fairness

Shared and WordPress plans are for normal interactive workloads. Sustained CPU above 25% of a vCPU for more than 90 seconds, or persistent IO above plan IOPS, may trigger throttling. We notify you before any action.

6. Cryptocurrency mining

Cryptocurrency mining and proof-of-work computation are prohibited on shared, WordPress and cloud plans. They are permitted on VPS and dedicated where the workload stays within plan resource limits.

7. Reporting abuse

To report abuse, email abuse@namence.com with the affected URL/IP and a description. We acknowledge within 4 hours.

8. Enforcement

Violations may result in throttling, suspension or termination, depending on severity and your history. We always try to reach you before taking action, except where immediate harm is occurring.
